La Palapita de los Tamales

Fantastic place. Came here for dinner and just 2 other tables were taken. Excellent service from this guy who seemed like he was cooking, taking orders and entertaining the patrons! I got the long sausage dinner, which had delicious deep flavors. He brought out some complimentary chips and salsa and I must say this simple salsa is the best one I’ve ever tasted. Just a fabulous experience overall, ambience and music included.

Hands down the best breakfast I had in Mexico. The food was sooooo good. Everything about the experience surpassed my expectations. Alex was a wonderful host and made me feel right at home. I'm recommending that my friend who is travelling to Yucatan next week make a special trip to Valladolid just to go here.

Great tamales and empanizadas and the vibe/atmosphere is excellent! At this price point for the food and service, it's one of my favorites during my week-long stay in Valladolid. Will be back!

Great tasting food, extremely friendly service, beautiful terrace and pricing hard to beat! Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

Do not get the vegan Tamales!! We were excited to find a vegan option on the menu and took them to go - we tried eating them an hour later, they were still warm, but unwrapping them was almost impossible as the banana leave was baked into the rice!! We tried a little piece from the inside - dry, awful taste, actually not edible! That’s the first time that we had to throw away food, not even the dog wanted it. Very upsetting experience and big waste of money.
