We came to the “Pueblo Mágico” Valladolid to visit the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site and New7WorldWonder Chichén Itzá. Possibly we would also visit some of the tentative “Ring of Cenotes of the Chicxulub Crater”. During our journey through Mexico we visited 15 of the 35 Unesco sites that Mexico has. The quaint Quinta Marciala turned out to be the perfect place to stay being just a short day trip away from the famous Mayan site. This red converted old hacienda was a beautiful place to stay. It is located in walking distance from the Zócalo main square and all other sights of this small and super charming town. We had a lovely upstairs room with our windows facing the quiet green patio. Great beds we slept really well in, a nice bathroom and both air-conditioning and a fan to cool us down on the warm days. In the patio there was a small pool with refreshingly cold water and a small terrace to catch some sun on. The staff was amazingly helpful and gave us great advice on both what to see and where to eat, all really good recommendations. When visiting Chichén Itzá, Valladolid is the perfect base to go from with bus/taxi/colectivo and Quinta Marciala is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommended.
