Ecotel Quinta Regia

We checked out the room before booking and the first room reaked of mold and musk so we asked to change rooms, they gave us a room on the second floor which still smelt like mold but was less smelly and we didn't feel like changing again. We noticed the toilet didn't work right away and called the front desk, they sent someone over to "fix it", the guy simply plunged it a few times and when that didn't work he poured water down the toilet to get it to manually flush. We thought he fixed it completely but when we used it again the toilet still didn't work and this time I went to the front desk and asked to move rooms. They said no to our request to move and said they'd send another plummer who would guarantee it will work or we could move rooms so I went back upstairs. The plummer came, he didn't fix anything, and left. We had to pour a cup of water in the toilet to make it flush the entire time we were here because we didn't want to make a fuss again. I wouldn't stay here unless you want to pour water down the toilet to make your toilet flush and stay in musty rotten rooms covered in mold.

4 stars when compared to other hotels in this area. This hotel is quite large with nicely kept landscaping full of birds. Great stop for birdwatching. We were in a suite with a jacuzzi tub at the edge of the complex. It was set up like a 4-plex with two units up and two units down. No one else was in the building, so it was very quiet. The restaurant had great fajitas and was very accommodating. We walked to the cathedral and city center area without an issue. No Wi-Fi, but cell service was good.

Overall the hotel met all of my needs and was a decent place well centralized within walking distance to most of Valladolid. We stayed 3 nights and encountered a few annoyances. Our shower was always cold even though we complained twice and the water or drainage smelled like sewage. I loved our wrap around patio overlooking the nice foliage. The toilet leaked and did not flush well. The internet was spotty. Don’t expect to use the gym equipment, it was either broken or moldy. Our hotel key had to be reset everyday which was quite annoying. Parking was easy and plentiful. The staff was friendly. The room seemed clean and had plenty of space. It wasn’t the worst hotel but it wasn’t the best. I wouldn’t recommend this except for the location was great.

Clean comfortable pricey

Beautiful hotel near the city center with friendly staff and a very good restaurant. The grounds are well-kept and tropical and the rooms have a beautiful view of the gardens. It’s a downtown jungle paradise that’s very affordable.
