Joined a tour to Uxmal and Kabah, it was a good experience, the guide is really good and provided us a lot of information. All of our group members enjoyed the trip and will to tip the guide as he is doing a good job!

During the tour you get a driver and a guide. I left my items inside the tour van and the driver stayed with the van. I rarely get money stolen from me but that's what happened. I noticed the drive looking at me in the rear view mirror while he was driving. At the time I was putting the money in a semi-hidden pocket in my bag and he obviously saw it. I counted the money. When I came back, some of the money was missing, clearly well thought out because I if it had all gone missing it would be clear theft, whereas this looked like I didn't count it properly. I told the guide the money was missing and he did nothing about it. During my trip, I found out that Mexicans are not really helpful to their tourists and you're really left to your own devices. If you travel, keep your items with you at all times. Also, if you Google Mayan Heritage Mexico, you will find 2 of their pins on the map. It's the same company but the other map pin has much worse reviews, so look into that too. The guide was Raul and the driver was Andres.

We organised the Mérida to Chichen Itza with Cancun transfer. We thought we’d pay the extra money and get a guide and lunch for the convenience of the transfer and use a transit day to do something interesting. You have to pay for your own entry. Once we were on the bus on the way to Chichen Itza they told us we might have to take the ADO first class bus as they didn’t have anyone to take us to Cancun. It was clear that might was definitely as the day went on and it wasn’t mentioned again. Not so bad only the bus for Cancun didn’t leave until 4:30pm! We finished lunch before 2pm. So poor an experience. The tour itself was in English and Spanish which meant you only got an explanation of a few of the main sites because it took so long explaining everything twice. The guide was informative and nice but we definitely missed out on a lot of information of the other areas. Lunch was a buffet and fairly average, pretty typical tourist trap place. Lunch only included food not drinks including water. It was only after I asked how we were going to get from our hotel from the bus station in Cancun that the guide also said he would give us money for a taxi. We have currently been waiting in the Chichen Itza carpark for over an hour in the rain waiting for a bus. Do not book. You could do it yourself for a third of the price and less of a hassle.

I took the tour to chitzen itza with a drop off in tulum. they didn't notify us in advance that we would have to go to playa de Carmen first and then in tulum, spending over 3.30 hours in the can for a 2 hour drive back and forth to playa. Also the lunch they offer with the tour is extremely touristic in a massive buffet a few minutes away from the ruins. Not a good experience for travellet's. you are better off doing the trip yourself and getting a guide at the ruins.
