Spatium Spa & Salon at Vidanta Riviera Maya

Really good facility and massages. The sauna and hot tub area were nice. They had cucumbers and cold towels for when you were in the Sauna. The massages had a good mix of ritual and skilled body work. Really glad we were able to include this in our experience.

Excellent service, very welcoming, and Relaxing!

While we were staying at the resort, my husband and I decided to get a couple's massage -- I am pregnant, so the idea of the prenatal massage was very appealing. I called from our room to get an idea on pricing and to schedule something. They told me it would be $121 total for the both of us (60 minute). I expected it to cost more than that, so I repeated the price back to her and clarified "Total? USD?" and she confirmed. Because it was so affordable for an hour massage, we opted to take them up on their suggestion of a wrap, as well. I am in accounting and HR, so it's my natural instinct to take notes of amounts, times, locations, etc, I made these notes on the pad by the phone. When we arrived at our appointment, they told us the total would be $821 dollars USD -- we were shocked. We told them that that was so much higher than we were quoted and asked why that was...they said I was wrong. They said she never would've quoted me for that amount. I told them I was CERTAIN, they insisted I was wrong. I told them that we couldn't afford that and that we needed to cancel. They again, very bluntly, told us we were not allowed to cancel because we didn't cancel 6hrs prior. They told us they were going to apply the $800+ charge to our room regardless, so we might as well get the massage. It was so extremely expensive, it was impossible to even enjoy ourselves. It really put a damper on the rest of the day. It was extremely frustrating that they made no effort to make it right. And when I referred back to my notes in the room, it confirmed our expectations of the cost.

I will give them 1 star just because their cleaning staff and drivers are awesome, the hotel and facility are beautiful and super clean. on the other hand the first morning in the hotel some lady woke us up telling if we wanted a tour of the resort that included a free breakfast, we saw her that day to set up for the second morning we where there and i asked her if it was related at all to a time share presentation and she said absolutely not, it is just a tour of the resort and a free breakfast buffet, after the breakfast we spent about 1 hour walking around the resort, wen we where suppose to leave the SALES PERSON giving us the tour took us in to a room that looked exactly like a time share sales floor and every time we asked to leave they told us to wait for somebody else that would give us our sign out sheet. once we hit noon AND LOST 1/2 A DAY i started to get upset and aggravated and they started to get rude and aggressive, the sales pitch that these people use need to be against the law, i came for a vacation to relax and not have to deal with these kind of people, just before they finally showed us the way out, BECAUSE WE DIDN'T KNOW THE WAY OUT, WE KEPT ASKING WHERE THE WAY OUT WAS WITH NO ANSWER, I FELT TAKEN. THE PEOPLE THAT SHOWED US THE WAY OUT ASKED US ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE AND WHEN WE TOLD THEM HOW THEY BROUGHT US HERE WITH LIES THEY LAUGHED AND TOLDS US HOW BAD OF A TIME WE HAD, " YOU GUYS WENT THROUGH ALL OF OF THAT FOR NOTHING, WE USUALLY GIVE YOU A TOUR OF RUINS OR PASSES TO A PARK, BUT YOU ARE GETTING ONLY 50% BACK ON YOUR RESORT FEE" its been 2 weeks since we came back from the vacation and still no deposit back $300.00 and nothing on the resort fee $ 75.00 i called and only got transferred from person to person with nobody having answers for anything. i will go back to cancun but definitely will stay away and everybody should STAY AWAY FROM VIDANTA RESORTS, they will lie to you any way they can to get a sale. They don't care for their customer at all, all they care is about making money. IF YOU DECIDE TO GO AND THEY OFFER YOU ANYTHING MAKE SURE YOU GET IT IN WRITING.
