Krystal Grand Suites Insurgentes 1991

Arrived 1.5 hours ahead of check-in time. I was told the room was not ready - the property claims "guests rooms kept vacant for 48 hours between stays". I was told that due to VIP Gold status with Expedia I would have a room upgrade but I would have to wait. At 3:00 p.m. I was informed that the offer for the upgrade had been rescinded and originally booked room was now clean and ready. Based on the posted statement on the hotel's page: "This property offers onsite health screenings for COVID-19. There is no charge for rapid antigen departure screenings for US citizens (up to 2 guests per booking) staying 3 nights or more", I tried to book my test. The agent had no idea, he called somebody and was told the hotel had not signed the contract with the testing provider yet; I would have to follow-up as they were gathering information and I would have an answer the next day. Stopped by in the morning and the desk agent told me they had the tests on-site, the he could draw blood and perform the test, but he could not and would not provide any documentation. If I wanted, he could arrange for an approved facility to perform the antigen test on-site, but it would cost around $280 USD. The next day received an email from the hotel Manager Paloma Vega offering to book an appointment off-site. At that point the airline had given me a list of approved providers and I already had my negative test results (ready in 20 minutes). I replied I would address the issue with Expedia upon my return to the US and would share the experience in Social Media.

Really good sized business hotel with a great setup: great desk, huge bed and useful kitchenette. The location is convenient and feels safe, relatively close to the airport by Uber and to subway and overground. Greeted with a smile every time. Really professional, and the cleaning professionals are great. Missing one star as I didn't have a coffee machine and the kitchen utilities were very little. WiFi was stable, but limited to 5Mbps with a browser login. 15 min walk to Walmart and within range of a great variety of delivery restaurants. The restaurant (room service) food is also good.

Beautiful hotel and wonderful service , though check in was slow and room service had some hiccups which they made up for by offering free breakfast but overall a very nice hotel to stay at and Juan Carlos at the cafeteria was wonderful. Truly 5 star experience . I highly recommend.

The room was clean and in great shape, all the furniture was current, they took great care of me and very pleasantly treated

Horrible service, the hotel is dead empty and they won’t let us check in before 3pm, not even with a early chekin fee, now we are walking around mexico city with all of out luggage after a long flight. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this hotel.
