Ojo de Agua Baldiosera

Beautiful salt water swimming hole in the middle of the mangroves. Teaming with fish and surrounded by storks, a visit to site is part of the boat tours offered in Celestun. Take care as crocodiles sometimes get into the area as one did the day I visited (check the area before getting in the water).

We visited this spring after seeing the flamingos and it truly is a little hidden treasure. The water is fed by a spring that feeds into the estuary through a series of pools. You can walk to the end of the boardwalk and see the water bubbling up from the spring. The water is crystal clear and there is a ladder if you want to go for a swim in one of the pools. A word of warning: check for crocodiles before you take a dip. We saw one next to the spring.

We took a boat that took us all through the are. We saw pink flamingos, crocodiles and big black termite nests.

I saw a small turtle when I was snorkeling there :-) the place is amazing.

We visited the park via boat tour to see the flamingo preserve and stopped to view this protected area. People swam in the waters, and it was very crowded. Informative signs posted on the trail and was well maintained.
