This parish is one of the oldest in the city of Xalapa. Its historical significance is that it was originally erected in what was one of four founding districts of primeval Xallapan. For many years custody of the three altarpieces were at the time in the former Franciscan monastery of the Nativity she was in the now Parque Juárez. The cost is dedicated to Santiago Apostle.
