Graveyard

Very much a must see culturally. You can really tell the hard work and love the people put into the final resting places of their loved ones. I would definitely recommend even just a drive through to see the craftsmanship of these eternal tombs.

I have to admit we felt a little uneasy going in here, mostly because it was completely empty (of living people) when we stopped by. The place is like something out of a movie, the colors, the decorations, the way the people of the island celebrate their dead is quite interesting to observe. Some of the monuments here are so intricate and over the top it makes you really crave the history and background on those who are being memorialized. Well worth a stop and visit if you are taking a golf cart around the island looking at the site

Beautiful, spiritual, respectful, and joyous great to see the way they honor their past loved ones. The colors really speak to the respect of the life instead of mourning the death.

Such a cool, traditional graveyard in the middle of the tourist zone of the island! It’s like an oasis of local life in the midst of a corruption.

Crowded (with graves) and tacky; or, traditional. Definitely worth taking a quick look. Entrance is free.
