La Gas

Stay away. If you are tourist they will try to. Fonyou. They Fake a problem on the credit card machine and when you pay cash they change a 50 pesos note for the 500 you gave. R7n like rhe place. All guys in the fuel pump involved in the scam

Stay away if you are a tourist and don’t speak Spanish - they cheat. On Nov 26, we stopped to get gas. The attendants distracted us with small talk and cleared the meter before i could see how much gas was pumped. Being my first time in mexico getting gas, i didn’t think it was weird and wanted to pay through card. The attendant input a charge on my card for a lot more than gas could have cost for my tiny car had 5/8 tank already. Somehow it went through without a signature. I tried to fight it and even tried to speak to a manager but everyone pretended not to understand english. Then they showed me a ticket that was less than the gas amount but still too high and tried to give 100 pesos back. We just had to leave.

Helpful attendant and no scams

I felt a bit ripped off here. They were friendly but definitely taking advantage of my limited Spanish and exhaustion. The machine to pay “wasn’t working” and they wouldn’t let me just go pay inside. I didn’t have any cash, and then after they messed around with he machine awhile asked for a tip and then decided how much it was going to be and I pretty much had to comply. I don’t like being forced to pay extra all the time. I do actually speak some Spanish and was able to tell it was a big joke to them to get this money out of an American. Well I’m not American. I’m Canadian. I’m also broke so the more I get ripped off, the unhappier my attempt at a vacation is. It’s tiring. They all laughed as I drove off. Very frustrating.

We chose this gas station because it had the "best" reviews in the area. They were a little quicker than I would have liked, but there still wasn't any funny business, so we're happy to leave a review. Just follow our rules for avoiding a gas station scam in Mexico and you'll be fine!
