This resort is amazing!! The grounds are so meticulously maintained and the staff is so friendly. We loved every meal. The best was the Italian restaurant for breakfast which included a Mexican pop-up outside. Our 3 middle school age boys visited Pizza Pizza at least twice a day on their own. Noel and Jesus who ran the joint were the absolute best! So funny and inviting! My
Husband and I loved the beach BBQ for lunch daily. I can’t recommend this resort enough!!!!
My family and I stayed for 5 nights to celebrate the new year. We had booked an ocean view suite but did not get it due to a hurricane, which was fine but the resort never offered to give us an explanation or any kind of credit for downgrading our room. Half of the restaurants were closed. We were excited to try Le Chique, but it was closed and the hotel did not inform us at the time of booking. The buffet and Starbucks were also closed. They advertised premium cocktails, but you can only get it at one bar in the lobby. There was nothing on the beach, like a beach bar or grill. No entertainment. They did have a show nightly, but it ended as soon as we were done with dinner. There was a significant waiting time at every restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner. We spent at least 2-3 hours waiting for each meal. W
Only one restaurant was open for breakfast each day and had the same menu. We were eating the same thing for 5 days. Overall, the food was horrible and portions were small. They never refilled the water bottles in our room. We asked concierge, housekeeping, and bartenders for water bottles and never got any to our room.
Beach was decent, but the main issue was that once in the water it was ROCKS, ROCKS and more ROCKS. we couldn't get out deep at all without walking on sharp rocks. There was debris in the water due to back to back hurricanes. We pulled out 2 different large boards with nails in them. The pools were freezing cold and we had to be out of them by 8pm. Due to pandemic only a few restaurants were open which is understandable to due to staffing, but the meals were very sub par. Pizza place while having a wood fire was like a frozen pizza, Tapas was good one night and terrible the next. Caribbean place was only place for breakfast and we went every morning and had issues every day (6 day stay) whether it was forgetting items, not offering refills of coffee or juice, cold food. The dinner experience at this place was equally as bad as food lacked taste and jerk chicken was terrible excuse. Mexican place was good experience as the fish tacos were good and the Italian place worked with me to propose to my now fiance. Room service was hit and miss too as it would be good and hot one night and cold and wrong order next. Due to short of staffing the ability to do things at the resort was very limited. The few staff they did have while polite were at times not knowledgeable of things at resort. A few bright spots were Enrique the server was funny and very in tuned to customer service. Alejandro at the front concierge was great with helping us prepare to leave. The spa treatment was very good and polite and friendly staff, but over priced. We did book a catamaran excursion, but we were not informed that it would be 8 hrs and that there would be so many people on the boat. If you have questions about staying here or another resort my advice is to pay the extra and stay at another place.
Can't say enough about the service we recieved! It was truly an amazing experience from the moment we arrived. Zavala, Miguel, and the ENTIRE staff made our stay feel like home!
Would recommend - had a relaxing 4 days
The positives:
Friendly staff, decent food with enough variety for an all inclusive, felt like covid precautions were followed and felt safe, clean rooms and facilities, on-site covid antigen testing for free, free wifi on the entire property, kids and adult areas. Really thought this was a pretty good place, especially for the price
Opportunities for improvement:
Lots of marketing to purchase spa treatments and join their member program, only 2 restaurants open each night and reservations required, not much orientation when you arrive because they assign you a concierge who handles info and requests and we didn't hear much about any on-site activities
