Good food awesome place ancient ruin
For a very touristy place, La Gruta actually serves good food. We had freshly prepared crisp and tasty salads with good oil, tender beef and moist chicken, at reasonable pricing. Combined with the entertainment (dancing and acrobatics), it is a must when visiting the nearby Teotihuacan city. So just queue up or make reservations if possible!
Seriously the coolest restaurant we've been to! They have a unique menu of traditional Mexican foods and snacks. It's a great place to stop for lunch after the pyramids. The prices aren't too crazy for this experience; they're definitely tourist prices though. We booked our seats in advance just in case and if you're going in peak season, I would highly recommend doing the same. The restaurant itself is pretty cool to explore as well, so I would recommend looking around after eating!
Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different.
The mole was pretty decent. The experience is interesting of course since you’re eating in a CAVE. The service sucked and the wait is long!
However, the one thing that wrapped this up into a high rating was this “end of meal” ritual that they have. Basically taking a candle over to the god of new beginnings/forgiveness. It was beautiful to do this with my new half-brother that I had just met. Really made the entire experience worthwhile! Don’t think I would go again though. The servers were terrible, and the food was not impressive
I'm sorry but i didn't enjoy my experience. The place is beautiful ,but i found the menu very complicated for a foreigner; I had trouble understanding the dishes. Finally i got food poisoning, which is never a good thing
