The temple is small and retains its ancient air, as well as the images and paintings of yesteryear. On one side is the convent of the Capuchin nuns, hence the name of the enclosure. In one of the walls there is a picture of Blessed Ezequiel Huerta, lay martyr of religious persecution, who contracted nuptials here.
