The Pickled Onion

Warning: This hotel will ruin your next vacations! Pickled onion has such nice staff, lovely facilities and extraordinary management that you will involuntarily measure every future hotel by these standards. Only to find that all the other ones are just not as nice as this lovely pearl.

Lunch here was serene. Beautifully kept grounds, surrounded by jungle make this place a perfect stop for lunch. Pictured below is the pollo pebil. It was snowing the best chicken I’ve had in Mexico. Fall off the bone delicious. The meal only costs around US$7.

We stayed one night a year ago while visiting the Ruta Puuc. It remains one of our favorite and most enjoyable experiences of our three months traveling through Mexico. Outstanding food and hospitality.

The staff is very helpful and informative. The houses are unique and comfortable. They also have a pool.

Great location near Uxmal, Labna, Sayil, and Kabah ruins. Large, clean, comfortable private palapas. Food great. Wonderful breakfast included. Great pool. Nice gardens with plants labeled.
