Governor's Palace

I was very glad to have the opportunity to closely inspect this wonderful location. These opportunities are becoming almost impossible due to destruction and lack of respect from people with no soul

The south end is now being restored (Feb. 2020) so this palace will be bigger than ever soon.

This is a must visit for your time definitely take more than a day to see all.

First the negatives- weirdly, we were asked if anybody had a GoPro or other video camera because there was a special “video fee”. Never mind we can use our phones to record video. It is now 2020 guys. The entrance fee seemed high compared to the quantity and quality of explanatory signs. Our tour guide, Jose, was brilliant, but ppl without somebody like him are not going to gain much from this place. So for a structure built about 1000 yrs ago, with ONLY stone and wood tools, you gotta admire the Mayan builders. We are allowed to climb to the mid level of this structure, which is truly amazing (safety concerns) but well worth it. Please go up, enjoy the view and explore the rooms on top.

Great archeological place to visit. Just beware of merchandise and drinking water prices they can be as high as the priramids themselves!
