MATA Comedor Cantina

Excellent atmosphere, waiters are very attentive and dispatch fast. I liked the music, it was great that I could hear in the table but the background music was at the right level I couldn't hear much next table conversation. Many drinks to select at what I consider an average price,i consider more or less 120 to 200 per person not including drinks. Clean baths. Food presentation was nice, I liked what I got, I think they can do a little better on some dishes. Accept most types of payment including cards.

Location and decoration: great Food and service: plain awful Spare yourself an uneventful evening and simply skip this place. Visited twice and I would have strongly recommended it at first, but the 2nd visit was horrible. Grumpy old waiter who took ages to bring our food, forgot our drinks, they were cleaning the toilets so we couldn't use them. Once they brought our food it was either cold or uncooked. They charged us a full appetizer when we ordered avocado - and the same waiter was awfully rude and menacing when we complained about it. Even the music sucked. There are many beautiful and delicious restaurants in the vicinity, make yourself a favor and scrap Mata from your list.

On Friday they have live jazz music. The music and the place are nice I recommend for a drink. The food; however, is below average. The cochinita taco was full of refried beans, this taco normally comes without refried beans. The meat of the torta ahogada was over cooked.

A great place to have dinner!! Honestly, I was just expecting some standard tacos when my girlfriend and I went for a place in Centro histórico. In the end, we ended up in this restaurant and the experience was great. First of all, the service and the waitress are so honestly friendly and helpful. They do not mind explaining me every single platillo and even the Limonada was awesome. All in all, including the food, and the lovely atmosphere, it is a place to recommend. Gonna return for sure.

Delicious food, great service. I fell in love with the place for its ambience. Definitely coming back!!
