Iglesia De San Francisco de Asis, Tepeyanco, Tlaxcala

Parish of San Francisco, in Tepeyanco, Tlaxcala. The cover of the 17th century temple is decorated with talavera. Inside are images of San Diego de Alcalá, San Pascual Bailón, the Immaculate Conception and San José. The interior of the vault and dome are decorated in great detail, the main altarpiece and the sides are viceregal jewels from the state of Tlaxcala.

Beautiful church with a large atrium that, like in many old churches, functioned as a pantheon of the town, is now an area with trees and gardens, very apart from the main park of the community. A pleasant surprise to discover it.

Historic place, is the first baptismal font in America, easy access on foot.
