TERMINAL ADO ALTERNA

Ticket purchase service was quick and professional. We informed the staff of our destination and preferred time and she pulled out the details on her computer screen for confirmation. Cheaper to get tickets here than on third party bus ticket websites. Though bus departed slightly later than scheduled, we arrived in Chetumal earlier than planned. Simple but clean terminal with a minimart for snacks.

Very very clean. I thought the ticket window was extremely helpful.

This is a new secondary station in the middle of Playa. If you’re staying at a place in the middle of Playa Del Carmen... this is the best station 🚉 to use as you’ll be walking for less.

This ADO terminal is newer, larger, far less crowded, and more convenient to many hotels and condos than the default ADO Terminal Turistica at the corner of Quinta Avenida and Benito Juarez that most foreign tourists use. Both terminals have bilingual ticket agents, but Alterna is far more spacious and has plenty of seating, baggage storage, a mini mart, free WiFi, and restrooms (large serviced restrooms in the lobby available for 5 pesos, and smaller, free restrooms that aren’t as clean in the bus waiting area for ticketed passengers). There’s a wide entry at the front of this terminal for taxi/car drop offs, and even wheelchair ramps!

The worst service, rude staff and unkempt facilities. They got a booth for Cancún downtown and airport trips only but they sale any other ticket making you wait so long that you end up missing the nearest departing bus, so at the end you end up waiting 30 to 40 min for the trip.
