The staff is lovely and the ground are huge. There are all sorts of wild animals in the trees above and around the hotel. Monkeys chatter all around and peacocks meander throughout the day. A great big pool that is the center of the lounge area. The hot tub isn't hot. Rooms are very clean and dry. It's laid out well so it's not noisy. The beach area is beautiful but the seagulls seem to come out around 5 or 6. But clean and a good value.

Amazing experience! The staff is very polite and always ready to help, the nature is extraordinary, with various animals walking freely on the territory. The beach has some fine white sand, and the water is a nice blue color, although sometimes there are a lot of algae. I strongly recommend taking the tours they provide instead of the ones offered by the guys walking on the beach, as the conditions are much better. The food is very tasty, and in big variety, and the a la Carte restaurants are a must. Overall, I strongly recommend Iberostar Quetzal!

Staff could not be any better. If you attend this resort, do yourself a favor and get to know Ulises from the restaurant. Ulises gives you an experience that is well above any 5-Star treatment. He makes it personal and SUPERB at his job. I wish I could give him a higher compliment he just went WAY beyond normal service standards and made this trip well worth the cost. Bugs are common where ever you eat. The food is so-so, desserts seem to be the best part,LOL! The surroundings and animals are very cool.

well, I had much better opinion about Iberostar. The food was horrible, the worst I ever eat at any hotel i stayed. the New Year dinner - great disappointment. Owner, at list the seafood must be fresh if you presented it on the table! The ventilation in the room was very slow. Every single day we had blackouts. The mattress and the sheets on the bed stink so bad that I had no choice but to request replacement. We had no light at all on the staircases during the night and early morning, and we had to get up and few times for the trips very early, I used my phone flash light to get out of the building. the guest service receptionists were nice but the requests even for simple thing as toilet paper take forever. From the other hand I agree with many people, the beach area is very nice and clean. the staff is friendly. the hotel location is great (gated community), it is very safe. The ferry to Cozumel located about 15-20 minutes away. But because of all the issues i described above I can not give good rating for Iberostar Quetzal. Not sure I ever will come back there.

I’m not sure why this place has such high ratings, I can’t say it matches our experience with this resort. Pros: everything looks amazing, from the food to the beach and pool, to the resort; overall very aesthetically pleasing and awesome. The staff was generally courteous and pleasant. Cons: the food is not good; it looks awesome but tastes mediocre at best. They have buffets and restaurants but only let you book limited times at the restaurant, you cannot eat there every night. Even the restaurants food was not much better than the buffet. The staff although pleasant were not particularly helpful with answering questions, but seemed very much interested in moving us into timeshare presentations or paid events. There is no hot tub which is disappointing for a resort of this size and supposed caliber. Generally I felt like they were trying to do every thing they could to take money from us. $5 fee to use their ATM, they also used a terrible exchange rate when exchanging dollars for pesos. Natural Sunblock was $20 at the gift shop? Give me a break. Overall this place has a lot to like but also a lot to dislike. This won’t be my go-to vacation spot.
