Hilton Garden Inn Monterrey Obispado

There are many things I like about this hotel and many things that need to be improved. The included parking was an unexpected bonus. The location and view were very nice. The reception staff were very inviting but i ended up checking out earlier than expected due to some problems. I ended up staying just one night which was enough to enjoy the view and get a feel for the hotel. I would probably go back but only for one night as it is a bit expensive. I really liked the television with many channels available in English and Spanish. The hotel elevators are annoyingly slow which I find strange for a new property. Be careful not to get into the service elevator or you will be stuck on it for a while. They need to make it more obvious to guests which elevator is the service elevator as it is not very clear. The restaurant was great especially 24 hours and they have very affordable meals that if you do not finish you can take up to your room. Unfortunately I did not get to experience the breakfast so no comment but it did look busy in the morning so arrive early. I liked the technology in the suite but it took me forever for me to figure out the lights. I did not really enjoy the suite or think that it's worth the extra money so next time I may just take a regular room. Despite the fact that there was a coffee maker there were no coffee cups in the bedroom... And then I was not able to enjoy the breakfast... Annoyed at the situation and due to the current Hilton promotion I decided to check out early. Luckily there was a Tim Hortons nearby which was very convienent and affordable. Overall YES I would come back but next time I will choose a different room. Hopefully service continues to improve.

Great rooms and service but don’t drink at the hotel bar 4 whiskey drinks of Buchanan18 $180. Could of bought 3 bottles for that. #mostexpensivedrinksofmylife

Pros: Hotel is quite new and very clean. However, staff is not the best. Cons: Service - I have stayed at a lot of hilton properties across different countries and most have offered good to excellent customer service. As a Diamond member you get breakfast which is offered at the restaurant in the lobby level. Upon arrival I was told most tables were reserved but they managed to put me in one. I sat for 30 minutes and was not offered a water or coffee. I waived a waitress down and she simply waived to hold on, then went on her way to clean tables. I got up and left to express my concern to front desk who simply said "oh I understand". If you dont care about service I would say its a good hotel but if you want good service plus a good property then go down the street to the hampton obispado.

Beautiful rooms, breakfast is not continental so be sure to give yourself time to order if working..... lobby set up is a little confusing, main entrance has no place for smoking or garbage.... people toss their cigarettes all over the ground.....
