This place is a dream — un encanto por seguro! Lush gardens shade the cobble and brick patio, where you’ll be served delicious Mexican breakfast specialties as you linger over rich conversations with fellow travelers. At the head of the table, Doña Laura is the perfect host. Each room is decorated with real care and attention to detail in a romantic style, with ample spaces to read and relax through the heat of the afternoon, or restore after a full day enjoying the many diversions of the area. The village is charming and steeped in the best of Mexican culture, and is fast becoming a center for ecotourism and sustainable environmental practices.

Perfect place and location to spend some days in a peaceful village at 3mn walking from the beach and the lagoon.

Staying at Casa del Encanto is highly recommended. (Admittedly, this is coming from someone that is the polar opposite of a cruise ship vacationer.) If you want to explore Barra de Potosi, a sort of Mexican Mayberry on the sea, than their is no better home base than Dona Laura's. The main structure has several guest suites, all tastefully presented in color and light. Best part of staying at Casa del Encanto; the host, Laura. She's a wealth of knowledge and is more than happy to share.
