A bit modest for a basilica, but with a very important religious and cultural heritage, it is the site of one of the most important religious festivals in the country. In times of a COVID-19 pandemic, it is open and with washing at the entrance.

This is the temple of the patron to whom "The night that no one sleeps" is dedicated. Here is also the Museum of the rugs.

Place where the Patron is: Virgin of the Charity, carpets of sawdust and carpets of flowers are realized during the celebration so that the virgin happens in the shoulders of its faithfuls. The main attraction are the carpets and monumental carpets that are made to thank for health, crops in abundance and prosperity. The carpets are full of religious motifs, these are made with different types; of flowers, seeds, seasonal fruits, metals, glasses and more. The price of these works is around fifty thousand pesos. The mats combine geometric shapes inspired by flowers and birds, the procession takes place over them, they take more than twelve hours to make, that's why it's the night nobody sleeps as everyone participates in the elaboration until finishing several meters.

This church is dedicated to the Virgen de la Caridad, its decoration dates back to 1924, it is also of very recent construction with 3 ships, currently when the fair is made the sawdust carpets are placed and the locals make many celebrations, In general I find a beautiful church, it is well preserved and has stained glass windows.

A very beautiful basic with a great tradition in the city of Huamantla. You should not stop visiting while in this beautiful city. It does not have its own parking. You should visit it with family or friends for this beautiful place.
