You'll find good deals and fresh local foods. You can bargain. Don't expect to find any international foods. There is also many small kitchen/restaurants to try the local cuisine.

No good

Very interesting traditional market, big, busy, offering a wide variety of goods and great food at lunch counters. All small shops, like an open market but under a good roof. Be prepared to see a man rush by with a side of beef over his back. This is the place to buy fresh meat, produce, dried chilis. Everybody shops here. Almost anything else is available, especially clothes, shoes, cheap toys and kitchen wares. Be sure to go to the upper level which has older shops and most of the butchers. Public restrooms are good by local standards, cost 3 or 4 pesos, but are a little hard to find. Ask. It occupies a large city block with shops facing the street. Try the tacos in any of the tiny taco joints along one side.
