Evolve Gym 5th Ave. Playa Del Carmen

Membership is a bit pricey but the gym is huge and for equipments I’ve always wanted to try out but could never find it back home. Wish there was a water cooler to refill my water. Nice AC and fan to keep it cool during workout. You can bring your own towel and lock to use. They have a protein shake counter after if you wanted to get a protein shake.

Update: please stop with the mask and towel nonsense. There is no fake virus. Thank you. Open. $50 for one month, friendly staff, no yoga classes yet, all the proper equipment you will need. They can use with the a/c a few degrees lower, however its manageable with the fans.

Had the absolute pleasure of training here for a few days before Playa progressed to level orange. The gym is exceptional. Very large with lots of equipment. They had several machines I've been itching to try out but havnt been able to find. The owners are great, very down to earth and friendly. The gym is well taken care of with AC and fans everywhere to keep you cool. I will absolutely return next time in in playa!

I walked into Evolve on the first day gyms were opened again after covid. I was empressed by the kind greeting and simple affordable sign up. Then the gym facilities are great. Every part of your body can be stretched and tested. I have belong to several good gyms in the states and this one rocks! Also, they have motivational phrases throughout reminding us to be our best!! Many of the ladies and men are ripped. People are friendly but serious about getting fit and it shows. 5 stars!

Dirty, crowded, loud gym with absolutely zero regard for Covid (and I’m very flexible on that topic). At one point they stole my bag (which had my needed workout gear for a recent injury) behind my back without telling me, requiring to hunt it down, thinking it had been stolen. I watched 4 trainers display zero understanding of decent form mechanics, no doubt leading to all sorts of future injuries. Go to any other gym— “The Gym”, Fibonacci, your hotel gym, any place else. Had to get my credit card company to reverse charges. Maybe your experience will be different.... Functions fitness gyms understand that there is a difference between bringing your full gym bag with your change of clothing and bathroom stuff onto the gym floor—totally unnecessary—and bringing your workout gear into the gym floor—wrist straps, water, workout bands, etc. that the gym doesn’t provide. Cradling your needed workout gear in your arms as you walk around makes no sense, but neither does not providing basic workout bands, etc. Already found better places to work out. Thanks for the motivation to do so!
