Residence Inn by Marriott Merida

My daughter and I are world travelers! I generally never really leave reviews. This hotel and experience is probably the best we’ve stayed at! Very clean! Very helpful staff! They have guards helping to ensure sanitizer and temperature checks. My daughter loved the pool while I enjoyed an AMAZING view of the city, while watching her swim. They even helped me after I left my offering to contact someone to help us move. We really loved this hotel! Bonus: BEST BREAKFAST I’VE EVER HAD AT A HOTEL!! They have the staff serving the food instead of everyone getting food themselves. We will definitely return! Oh yeah, the mall is literally across the street, maybe a 30 second walk!

Very clean and near new hotel! The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet was good however the wait due to staff having to serve each guest was very long! I can appreciate the new restrictions due to COVID, but other hotels such as the RIU in Cancun let people serve themselves off the buffet for breakfast. Also it didn't make much sense as the server served you, then the counter of condiments was open for everyone to put their own on their food..everyone touching the bottles is different that the serving spoons I guess?

Upon arrival the front desk help were terrible! Six people to deal with my checkin which was already a mobile checkin. I was requested to sign off on them gathering my private data, which I refused. My Marriott Visa was used to reserve and pay for the stay and they still charged my card which was not a hold but an actual advance payment arrangement. It’s so unfortunate because the faculty is typically nice like a Marriott, but the management is terrible. We lost power and for 4 nights a diesel generator vibrates outside our window. Corporate should rehire staff and retrain the American way, which is sometimes rude but better than this experience!

Hello Ricardo, I just wanted to take the time to commend your staff and tell you that our family had a fantastic stay at your hotel. The staff at the front counter were very helpful and accommodating. It was an excellent experience. The security was very helpful and were very diligent in keeping patrons clean with respect to covid-19. We just moved to Mexico from Canada and we have stayed at several hotel chains here in the Yucatan. I must say you Marriott Residence is by far the best, cleanest and most enjoyable stay we had here in Mexico. Thank you very much for the hard work from your staff. Please note we found the front desk staff to be very friendly and had an excellent command of the English Language. We will most certainly be happy to stay here and refer our friend and colleagues to do the same. :) Sincerely The Seeton family :) P.S. The hotel facilities are very good and new however it has many shortcomings that it would not have to have as a chain hotel. 1. The room cleaning service is very bad. The first day we were supposed to be cleaned, we found that they had only made the bed and left everything as it was, dirty sink, dirty mirror, etc. There was even a cup of coffee in the microwave that wasn't from us. When going down to reception to comment on the situation, nothing was done about it, arguing that it no longer had cleaning staff until the next day. 2. The breakfast buffet, although it is varied, the foods were cold and they take it away very punctually at 9 o'clock but one day we went down at 7am sharp and they still did not have everything ready to start with the service. 3. They never took our temperature upon entering. Which makes me think that they do not comply with all health measures.
