It's a must visit when in Veracruz. Right across from the Malecón, where shops sell souvenirs and local artisans. The coffee here is legendary. Large varied Menu. Open all day! Street parking. Highly recommend!

This is one of these Mexican restaurants which are frequented not for the quality of the service or food/beverages served but its local long-standing tradition and central location. All of Veracruz seems to like the place. We were here around 4pm for coffee and a soup. The espresso was strong, more acidic than usual, but good. The soup had also been quite tasty. However, prices are too high for what you get. There were way too many waiterers for the number of tables who all stood around close to our table which didn't make us feel very comfortable. The atmosphere inside isn't too cosy but okay. Maybe a one-time-only thing to do when in Veracruz but definitely not THE place to get coffee.

Fast and good service, live music all the time but from the outside, so they keep walking around asking for tips. The food was good but nothing special.

Great place. Full of history and the taste of great coffee. Ask for a Lechero and maybe some picadas.

Came here for dinner. I honestly don’t get the hype. The food is disappointingly worse than mediocre!! I had the filette relleno 250 MXN. It was Overcooked and oversalted pieces of fish and tiny little shrimp wrapped with White American cheese, served with a half cup of overcooked white rice, and couple of slices of tomato, avocado and some onions. It’s a lively place, good for local people watching, but if you’re going there for The quality and/or taste of food, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
