Five star member with a reservation and told no cars available. This has happened every time I’ve tried to rent from Hertz in Mexico.

Absolutely the WORST experience when arriving at Cozumel airport. My advise to anyone is to NOT visit the tourist stands that say they’ll give you a deal... trust me, they don’t!! You get locked into a 90 min presentation which is INSANE because it was never mentioned. He even said, I can get you a Jeep which is what we wanted but when walking out it was a little compact car that cost twice as much than what you can get it for online. So frustrated!!! We love Mexico everything is super safe as far as covid.

Lord. Have. Mercy. Zero stars. Zeroooooo stars. Website and Google both say this location is open until 7pm. I arrive at 640pm to pick up my car and they're closed. I go in the next morning to pick up my car, which I paid extra to reserve an suv, and the manager says they don't have suvs...they only have small sedans. She also tells me they are usually open until 7p but they weren't busy so she left at 630 p the previous night. I purchased insurance thru Expedia with the rental. She says it doesn't matter and puts a 29,000 peso deposit on my card. My flight leaves at 9am, but they dont open until 9am so I have to return the car a day early. No discount for the one day shortage due to their incorrectly posted hours. She tried to sneak in an extra 1200 pesos onto my bill for a "gas charge" before I even returned the car. I had to fight with them and show them proof of what i was supposed to pay before they would change it to the correct price.Then when I return the car...its perfect. She tells me one of the tires is flat. I tell her no its not. I tell her it wasnt flat when i parked it.. she then shows me a photo of a very NOT flat tire and I tell her it isn't flat and ill stand here til u get it checked by a mechanic. She tells me she isn't releasing my deposit to me..which makes sense.. because tires definitely cost $1500 american dollars. I keep standing there staring at her...call the insurance company and make sure tires are covered..they are..then 30 minutes later she says it was just "low". Weirdly enough it wasn't low enough to even engage the low tire pressure warning light. She tells me she's charging me for a tire anyway because its "probably" damaged since the air pressure was low. Luckily the only honest employee here...OMAR..the mechanic... Came to the rescue and said there's nothing wrong with the tire...it was just a little low..and he's not making me pay their insane tire fee since I didn't actually damage a tire. The manager was very mad at Omar. Go literally anywhere else for a car. I would trust a panel van with a free candy sign inviting small children to pet puppies before I would ever trust this shady management again. Hertz is forever dead to me.

SCAMMERS!!! Offer great rates, take your credit card information THEN explain the fine print!!! BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST!!!! Told them I did not want rental, never took car or signed agreement and still charged card. After walking away airport security told me that they have lots of problems with them. I disputed on credit card and got refund as I should due to no contract and never taking car. Arrogance of guy at desk said, "walk away you will still get charged". Contacted customer service after trip and got the usual run around.. WILL NEVER USE HERTZ ANYWHERE!

Very good group of people here. Been using them for 3 years now.
