Cinemex Playa Del Carmen

I love going to the movies and I don't care if the seats recline or are greasy. Movie theaters are a known transmission vector for covid-19. I don't eat and I keep my mask on. Right now is a great time to enjoy the theater experience because many are not going. Good choice of seating! Cinemex does take reasonable precautions to slow the spread of covid-19 and makes much about it in their pre movie advertising. Nevertheless be aware you are taking a risk and be careful. Some do not wear masks and they don't sterilize after each showing. Wear clothes that minimize tactile contact and launder them immediately after. I want to see films in the theater. México is not providing stimulus to failing businesses. Support your local theaters and be very careful doing so.

I prefer Cinemex to Cinépolis because their theaters are less crowded, the screening rooms are good and the seats are comfortable. Also appreciate that they screen more non-American films than Cinépolis, which is a bit more commercial and dedicated to blockbusters. Also, a lot easier to buy popcorns or other foods because it's not so overcrowded as Cinépolis in Playa de las Américas.

Cinemex has really taken a turn for the worst ! The conciege instructs us that the movie will start 3 hours later, the host directs us to the wrong room, a 2 hr. movie without A/C (stifling hot) and the bathroom are filthy without working toilets.

The seats are not cleaned until the end of the night. So you have to move trash to sit down. Seats feel disgusting Sound in theater is not as loud as I'm used to. Would never go again yuck

Nice movie experience. Rates are cheaper than Canada and us. It's actually very affordable to watch the latest movies and sometimes before other countries have a chance to see them. If you forgo buying food and drinks at the concession it's very inexpensive to take your family too watch a movie.
