They rip off tourists for having just a small scratch in the paint. They have us pay 75$ et Xtra. Dont go there they are not honest people.

Roger was super helpful and nice! Quick and easy service with no problems. Straight forward service, rented a nice new looking scooter used all day, returned end of day. Boom boom bam 💥 Recommended by dive shop and now recommended by me, definitely renting my scooters from her when I come back!!

Very happy with the motorscooters that were provided to me and my father. We got two scooters for a very reasonable price for the day. The guys working in the shop speak English really well and are so friendly and helpful. They gave us a map and explained where to go and how to drive. We chose to rent the scooter directly at the shop and didn't cope with street sellers. The price for two scooters included liability insurance as well. There was an option to take vehicle insurance, but we didn't take it as we trusted our own driving. Would really recommend renting here!

We had an awesome experience renting scooters with this group! They were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we could catch our ferry on time. Wonderful service!!

I would strongly recommend avoiding Black Shark rentals. They were happy to lie to me and intimidate me to create an uncomfortable situation as they tried to extract money from me when I returned the car. In the end, I lost 500 Colones ($27) of my deposit to what I suspect was a fabrication. I went to them after speaking to another rental company, who told me I could not take their cars off the island. As I was going to Tulum on the mainland, I needed to find an alternative. I hoped that the generally good reviews on Google meant that I would avoid any of the problems that I had seen written about other car agencies. I was wrong. Given the set up at the previous rental company I had tried, one of the first questions I asked of the rep, who I now know is called Jorge, was whether I could take the car to Tulum. He told me that I could, something he would later deny. When I was first in the office, they were friendly and the atmosphere seemed nice. As a side note, the car was not particularly well maintained. The driver's seat was broken and at an angle so was not comfortable. the car also shuddered and sounded like it would take off when it went above 40km. During our first day away, I got back to the car to 10 missed calls from them. They were demanding that I return the car to the island. I refused so they then demanded that I pay the ferry for them to return the car to the island. Communicating on the phone was difficult, but our kind Mexican AirBnB host managed to resolve the issue so that we could stay in Tulum and return when planned. This whole ordeal really spoiled our day. My deposit was in cash, which seemed strange to me at the time. I now wonder if this was done so that I couldn't involve my bank and was at their mercy as to whether I get it back. When I returned the car I was sat in a room with three large men. They closed the door. It was not a comfortable experience as I argued with them about how the situation was not my problem but their problem. How I don't understand how I could have done anything differently. They had the audacity to lie to my face on more than one occasion. They said that the contract states that I could not take the car off the island. I told them to show me where it says that. They pointed to a clause in the contract, but my Mexican Airbnb host had already double checked that clause and it only limited the rental to the Republic of Mexico. I have just about enough Spanish to read basically, so I asked them to point exactly where in the contract it said this. They couldn't and when I pushed the point the man I was talking to walked out the room. They wanted me to pay a police infraction that they told they had got for me taking the car of the island. One of them said to the other, in Spanish, that it was for 1500 pesos, which was immediately translated to me as 2000 pesos. I called him out on this because I understood what was originally said. When I refused to pay it, they threatened to call the police to resolve the issue. I believe this was an intimidation tactic as they did not follow through on this. In the end, the argument went back and forth, as they seemingly played good cop, bad cop with me. Jorge was in the room and was sullen as he looked me in the eye and denied ever saying that I could go to Tulum. I could not see what options I had left. In the end I walked out with half my deposit back. This cost me 500 pesos ($27). Interestingly, Jorge refunded me the amount from his wallet. This leaves me wondering if he is actually the boss and orchestrated the whole thing as a way of getting extra money from me. Please, save yourself the hassle. They are not honest, they are willing to intimidate you. It is just not worth it.
