Easily the greatest park I’ve ever been to. Feels like an old abandoned zoo or something. So cool

A hidden treasure. This chasm was a quarry and the source of much of the green stone used in the building of Oaxaca. Long ago it was converted into a park with many stone walls, paths, and small lakes. Also some performance venues. Recently it is undergoing a massive rehabilitation and upgrade. As of 3/2017 the top third is essentially complete. The middle third is closed and walled off (I assume for construction) and I don't know the status of the bottom third. The park is rarely discovered and visited by tourists. It's a nice place for a walk and an excellent place for birding.
