Nice place! I was there one year ago and had a good luck to help release baby turtles to the ocean protecting them from seagulls. Go there closer to sunset time.

We had a really really nice time with one if the volunteers called Leo. We did the night tour which started at 9pm. Luckily we could see 2 turtles putting their eggs onto the beach which was very fascinating. We could even grab after the eggs. Afterwards we put them in the protected area of the camp, whereby we even saw two new born turtles walking around we set free to the sea. The work they are doing is extremely important. Thank you for all the information, we really enjoyed the tour. This tour is 100% recommended to anyone who is interested in the turtels way of life, in the project and to walk around at the beachside during night time to see the beautiful stars. Thanks!

A definitely must when in Puerto Escondido. Throughout Puerto Escondido you’ll be offered this experience with a cost of about 20 dlls. You can simply walk to this camp by the beach, and see for free the liberation of newborn turtles. It’s an amazing experience.

Never seen turtles living in the wild before. Here you can accompany the just hatched into the water! The friendly gentleman from the station also explained everything we wanted to know about turtles. And: the whole thing is free, of course the guardians expect a tip there, but they really deserve it!
