Reviews
The structure of this work by the Mexican writer Rafael F. Muñoz, published for the first time in 1931, is made up of twenty chapters, which seem well connected stories to achieve an excellent story of marginalized and peripheral characters. In addition, it contains the final testimony of General Nicolás Fernández that serves to reaffirm the historic base narrated.
The chapter called "The circle of death" is highlighted, which seems to be a short story separated from the main story; It accompanies the plot but has its own meaning outside of it. On the other hand, about the language of the narrator and the characters, we can say that what each one says complements the reading, makes it agile. Linked to the language of the characters, is, also its construction, because in this novel, Muñoz emphasizes the animalization of the characters. Thus, in the descriptions made by the narrator, we see that some have cat or raven look, wolf jaws, ears that look like rooster crests, etc.
Finally, we can say that let's go with Pacho Villa! It has a discourse that seems cut, both in its construction and in its narrative language, this in terms of the discourse of the narrator and his characters. However, the author may use it on purpose only to give even more tension to the plot. With everything and failures or successes, it is a work undoubtedly recommended to know Mexican literature.
