Beautiful place by the river with the volume of water that it carries and the abundant vegetation, plantains, papayas, lemons, mangoes, etc.

Legend of the royal passage, Tuxtepec Oaxaca. For those who do not know, why the name happened real to the crossing of the Papaloapan River in the center of the city. From 1440 to 1455 kingdom in Chinantla, Atonaltzin. This king used to visit once a year all the towns and manor Chinantecos by the dominated. These visits were made in a large canoe accompanied by one hundred of his best warriors heavily armed with bows, arrows and warrior axes and all the weapons known to them then. Whenever Atonaltzin visited the manor of Tochtepetl, he crossed the Papaloapan River through the same place and as he was the king, the settlers called the place of the king or royal pass, a name that he still holds. When in 1455 Moctezuma iluhicamina undertook the conquest of the great Chinantla and Tochtepetl, in his first attempt his army was resoundingly defeated by the Allied army formed by the Chinantecos, Mazatecos and Zapotecs who were commanded by King Atonaltzin. These allied forces were defeated in the second attempt, by the Aztec armies, dying in the last of those battles the fierce and brave King Atonaltzin. Taken from the book Tuxtepec stories and anecdotes.

A peaceful place, with an excellent view of the river, a place to eat ice cream under the fresh shade of almond trees.
