The best place to stay and not only. Surf lessons, Spanish learning, best atmosphere. I felt myself there like at home. Thanks you, guys😊I will definitely come back to you!

Experiencia is a nice and beautiful place to stay in Puerto Escondido. Very comfortable rooms, and everybody here is really kind and make you feel like a big family.

Been here twice now and loved the first time. Second time, it felt like they were trying to take my money. I got the 10 lesson surf pack, 3 yoga sessions, and surf photos last session. The yoga teacher kept canceling and I ended up taking only 2 sessions because it wasn’t real yoga to me. They also forgot to take my photos last session so I had to buy another lesson. On my 11th lesson, I guess they forgot again and have completely stopped responding. I would have rather them be honest about forgetting then just ghosting. ESP since I paid for an 11th session...

Friendly staff. Knowledgeable instructors. Fun excursions and outings. Daily social activities in the evening. Conveniently located near restaurants, bars, cafés, and a supermarket. Great school.

Experiencia - the only language they speak is money. School The teachers were very nice, but as soon as you reach a certain level of Spanish you'll notice that none of them actually have a qualification to teach. That not only limits your progress, but might as well cause confusion about things you already know; as you do not get necessary and correct explanations every time. In general videos/songs are a big part of your daily lessons which by itself would not be too bad, but waiting 20 minutes every second day for them to solve "technical problems" is quite a waste of your money. "Small classes" are only provided if there is no more bookings. So you happen to sit with five others in a lesson, which limits your actual time of participating to rather nothing. If you decide that that's not the promised circumstances you assigned to and want to shorten your pre-booked lessons, feel free to not join class anymore - but don't expect them to refund a thing. One „book“ is included if you spent a longer time in the school, but they circumvent their own rule by just handing out „books“ that do not cover all your stay. Language School as Accommodation: It looks quite nice and the common areas do really fulfill their purpose. Maybe I was unlucky with my room, but it was so dark, that you would have to use light no matter what time of the day. It was a shared room, but unluckily the ventilator only reaches one of the two beds. My tiny mattress had a big hole towards one side, so most of the time I rolled into that and was dangling partly out of the bed. As the direct neighbor is a Karaoke Bar the hole was the smaller problem to cope with, as really loud music would play every evening - sometimes until 3-4 am. Right in front of the room is a drain, that smells awfully and you're sometimes afraid that all your stuff in the room might start smelling like that. By the way, they make you pay 400 Pesos as deposit for your dishes that you would always have to carry around with you, which kind of fitted the overall prisonish environment. Surf School and Surf School Accommodation: After two weeks I could finally move to the surf camp which is absolutely beautiful and perfectly situated. Yet as for someone who really likes to surf, calling it a "Surfcamp" might be somewhat misleading. They do only provide rather expensive surflessons for beginners, which consist of pushing you into a lot of waves (in complete disregard of all priority rules in surfing). There's no theoretical introduction to the rules, not to the water safety in general or the surfspot in particular. You can't rent a board, there's no leaches, no fins, no wax, no transfer to any other close by spots and there's no surf camp vibe at all. During my stay we had a construction area within the camp for more than a week, so that during the daytime there was not a single minute without noise. General Avoid doing any kind of excursion with them. For instance, what they charge their pupils for a day trip to a close by surfspot (Chacahua) equals the amount of money TWO people would have to pay for a whole weekend there; including transport, accommodation, and food. Talking to locals about Experiencia’s partnering projects you’ll happen to notice that these projects do indeed serve a honorable cause, yet this help only consists of your workload, whereas the money you paid to this organization isn’t redirected at all to support the projects - causing them to often suffer from underfunding. MOST IMPORTANT: All that is exclusively the fault of the higher management staff, as well as their organization and regulations!! Every single other employe - whether it's the Surf Teachers, Spanish Teachers, Yoga Teacher, Cleaning Staff, Driver, Intern or Night Guard - is an incredible personality! Attentive, helpful, genuine, humble, and way more than just friendly! None of that proves true about their employer. What bothers me most about Experiencia is that they do not deserve all the truly good souls that are working for them.
