Carniceria La Mexicana

This is written from my perspective of a climber visiting El Potrero Chico: This is a small but adequate grocery store. It suits your needs, and has plenty of cheap and fresh vegetables. The avocados here are so affordable, so I'd say load up on those, a giant thing of eggs (they either come in bags or a large carton), a few cans of beans, and some fresh tortillas and you're set for a pretty well-rounded and healthy diet. For the carnivores out there, there's a small deli/butcher counter where you can get sliced sandwich meats and queso fresco. If you're in Hidalgo for climbing, this is one of the few options to stock up on food. It serves its purpose, and is a nice rest-day walk from the crag.
