Playa Bacocho, Puerto Escondido

Such a big and wild beach! Huge waves!

Awesome beach. No services, but it was a very nice way to spend the evening. 10 minute hike if you don't have a car

Bacocho beach is one of the quieter beaches in Puerto Escondido. A little farther from the main tourist areas. So it's nice for peaceful beach walk or a jog (or even fishing for needlefish out in the surf 😮). It's never crowded here. Yet there are at least two restaurants on the southern end of the beach. Public hotel swimming pools. Some kind of turtle release and information hut. You can swim here, in designated safe zones. It's a nice beach! I honestly don't know why it's not more popular. 🤔? 😎🖒

Really enjoyed this beach, they are home.ti the turtle.release programme vie del Mar which is an exceptionally worth while program. You donate 100pesos (4.30 arrival.for 5.00 release) and get to release baby turtles into the ocean on this beach. It's also really big and not at all occupied. Not a great deal in the way of food and drink though
