BuBu Long Beach Resort

I been staying at a lot of hotels for work and leisure and I have never experienced something like what happened today. The following is the story that happened to me today: I am staying here from 16-20th September 2020 and it’s my 2nd day here. Everything was nice, friendly staff, nice room and ambience, even welcome drink and free cocktail per person per stay each day. BUT something happened this morning that totally distraught me and ruined my trip. But let me give some context first - The layout of the room is slightly different. When you enter the room, it opens to the bathroom, then there’s a door to the bedroom. So if you are in the bedroom with the bathroom door closed, you can’t see the entrance. Now, here is what happened. I left my wallet on the toilet sink and I clearly remembered it was there. And while we are in the bedroom, we locked the entrance room and the bathroom door was closed too. So we cannot see the entrance. I heard some noises, I didn’t bother much. And I still heard noises then I open the door and saw 2 housekeepers there. And I said to them to clean the room later, I went on to the bedroom to relax. Then it’s time for me to do the snorkeling trip, and I was looking for my wallet and I couldn’t find it. Then it hit me, it may be the housekeepers. I went to the receptionist and reported this issue. They were very helpful and even looked the entire room for me, obviously the wallet was no where to be found. They even brought the housekeepers to the room and they said that when I open the door they were at the door. I said yes but I heard noises for a 2-3 mins before I open the door. They must have heard me and quickly ran back to the proper position. I even said to the housekeepers that I just need my ic and you can have the money. I said this because I didn’t have much cash in the wallet and I cancelled all my credit cards. And I found it interesting that the housekeeper replied - if I give you back the IC, then you will change the story and accused me. Which I said it’s okay you can have that rm150, I need the IC for my flight! The housekeeper gave me attitude. I feel uncomfortable staying here now. MORAL OF THE STORY - KEEP ALL YOUR BELONGINGS CLOSE TO YOURSELF

Free yoga session every morning & evening Free daily cocktail for hotel guests Wide variety of breakfast Beautiful resort Cons: Check in at 4pm, check out at 11am

We enjoyed our stay in Bubu's (though not so much at Long Beach). Room itself was clean, shower area big, only thing that wasn't great is the air cond which is directly perpendicular to the bed so it's blowing cold air straight at you. They provide a towel to use at the beach once a day, deck chairs, a free cocktail at 4pm which was a nice touch, breakfast was decent though we sometimes had to wait for some of the food to be refilled. One of the few places that serve beer as well (RM 13 per can of Tiger). As it's near the jetty side at Long Beach, it's about a 15-20 min walk to Coral Bay.

Don’t ever stay in this resort! First it’s way more expensive for a room that doesn’t even provide a TV. The female staffs are very arrogant. I arrived 2 hours early from the check in time. They gave welcome drinks and i had lunch at the restaurant while waiting for check in time. A receptionist staff came to my table to gave the room key, cause we were very excited, we took our luggage and head over to the restaurant entrance, and yes we genuinely forgot to pay our lunch, but instead of asking or gently reminding us to pay our lunch before heading to the room, this one female staff chased us and say “pay your bill first” with a high tone and arrogant face. I mean... we are just checking in, we’re not running away, this female could’ve asked nicely or add our lunch to the room bill. When we enter the room, the AC was not working, only after we asked them twice to fix it, they finally fixed it. I paid RM1,500 for 2 nights just to feel very unwelcome and get a very bad attitude from the female staffs. Please if you still looking for a place in Perhentian, don’t ever consider booking Bubu Resort. Not worth it.

I only remember good stuff about this place. I stayed here back in 2014 for 3/4 nights dont remember, but it was clean, nice staff and an amazing oceanfront bistro.
