Hounon Ridge is a good place to stay, if one wants a getaway. It offers a great view of Mount Kinabalu in the morning. There are several rooms for choice, but bear in mind that there is only one room with balcony that faces Mount Kinabalu. The other one faces the sunrise. I ended up staying in the upper floor for a view of Mount Kinabalu. I would suggest to go for Room 4. There is a cafeteria with price range between RM8 to RM15 for some good meals. No towel is provided. No free WiFi. The path to this place is kinda steep with potholes.

Ups: -spectacular unobstructed view of mount Kinabalu -fresh, crisp, cold air -Double rainbow sighting after a light shower -Beautiful flowers of vibrant colors -Well built resort -Helpful and accommodating manager.(took us out in own car to nearby town to buy food supplies.) -Rooms clean and comfortable -free usage of common dining area( has stove, induction cooker, steamboat equipments) Downs: -Road bumpy and difficult to access -rooms not sound proof..Noisy with campers partying til past midnight -Blackout when doing steamboat, 30-45mins to respond when called. -Heater not working in one of the rooms

Nice Mount Kinabalu view with cool breeze all time, able to choose to camp, or room base on your own preferences. Toilet is clean!

Wish someone would told me before that the Bundu Tuhan road was quite challenging, especially when you're driving at night & raining. Well, we experienced both. The place is literally at the end of Bundu Tuhan road. It took about 40 minutes of careful driving. Get the right car ya, as to not worry so much. One way in, one way out. So preferably buy everything you need first before you get into the Bundu Tuhan road. They have a cafe on site though. Quite pleasant meal. Other than the road, everything else was worth it. We came for the view & we got that. Beyond expectations. The view was extraordinary. Wake up early for the perfect view of Akinabalu. Will come to visit again. Thx

Located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town, beware that the road leading to the site is quite steep and narrow. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for animals by the side of the road. But, the scenic view of the majestic Mount Kinabalu in the background will make every mile travelled worth it. The best part? It has got to be waking up to the most beautiful sunrise you’ve ever seen in your life, stretched out over the luscious greens in front of you. Not to mention, this site is perfect for a family vacation because of its ample space!
