Umerum is a very conducive environment to carry-out farming activities

Umerum is a place that have a nice housing structure, but very bad road, the roads are so bad and dusty that you can see clearly when driving at night. Not so populated, occupant are mainly farmers, business men and women and politicians.

Umerum is a town in Ayamelum Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria. Umerum or Umolum in Ayamelum local government area of Anambra state in Nigeria is a town moderately populated on the shores of Omambala and Ezu River. The town is populated and is made up of the villages of Ukpambaka/Umunkwele, Ayigo, Umuodu/Umuoli, Umuerike/Obinagu and Otu-oyibo (general settlement area). Umerum is geographically located in agriculturally rich land with main produce of yam, rice, cassava, maize and other assorted vegetables. The river tributaries and lakes allow the town to enjoy good stock of fresh water fish. In 1970s oil companies discovered oil and gas deposits in large quantities and have not yet been exploited by Nigerian government. Umerum is closely bordered by her sister towns Omor, Umumbo and Awba (ovemmili).
