Nice place, visiting will be good in rainy time Jun to Oct
A great place for many things; hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing, swimming, nature watching, climbing, outdoor photography etc.
Have in mind that it is primarily a dam and thus the environment should be treated with utmost respect and care. This water supplies the whole of Abuja and serves as means of living for local fishermen and cattle farmers.
When you come visit make sure you carry all your trash back with you...respect the locals and the security personnel.

Great place
A very beautiful sight to behold. It surrounded by hills. If you are lucky and the fishermen are around, you can get a canoe ride. It is located in Bwari.
A mountainous area not far from Bwari, Abuja. Basically its a water treatment plant and the dam serves as the reservoir.
I love the scenery.
You need to know the days and time when visiting is allowed. A wonderful place for hikers and when you climb the mountain nearby you will see a clear view of the dam and the surroundings.
You have to arrange food and drinks from home prior to arriving as there are no shops or restaurants.
