HISTORIAL BACKGROUND:
Ijioma Memorial Group of Schools (IMGS) is one of the oldest private institutions in Kano, Kano State of Nigeria. A pioneer institution established as an Adult Education Center in 1957 with the approval of the then, Colonial Provincial Education Officer, Kano Province, Kano. And in 1964 its Nursery and Primary Sections was founded to meet with the increasing demand for education that resulted from few government owned schools in existence at the time. Due to the excellent performance of its pupils in academics, the Kano State Ministry of Education deemed it fit to grant approval and accreditation of the establishment of its secondary section, hence the birth of Unity Comprehensive College (UCC) which consists of Junior and Senior Secondary schools, as a division, in 1990. It had its first West African Examination Council (WAEC) graduates in 1995 and the National Examination Council (NECO) in 2000.
