The District settlement of Burum Brum is one of the oldest in history of Kano. It was the place where the Last Habe king of Kano, Muhammadu Alwali sought refugee when the Fulani Reformers of Shehu Usman Danfodio chased him, that is where he was buried. His Tomb still lives under a baobab tree near the palace,
