Great hotel back in the day. Serene environment. Decent room for moderate pricing. Does not have a lot of parking space or a pool. The restaurant could do with an upgrade. The halls are okay for events of 200 for the big hall and 30 for the converted restaurant. One other plus is it's location at the hear of town.
Spent 2 nights here with my wife.
The rooms were small (I like roomy rooms) but comfortable. Showers seemed not to be working, so buckets were offered instead. Reasonable variety of TV channels were available. Their prices are not too steep.
Didn't try their cooking (I generally prefer to eat out when staying in a hotel).
The staff were polite, friendly, helpful. They should work on their security guards though, they got unduly familiar (at least 1 did).
The location is right in the middle of town (off what the locals call Marian Road but Google describes as Old Ikang Road). It's less than a minute's walk from the major road.
It has limited parking facilities. The management runs a packaged water sales point in the premises and the customers take up space when they come to buy. Makes the environment somewhat rowdy.
This establishment is suitable for brief business visits. Would definitely not bring my kids here to stay.
In all, not too bad for the price.
A very old hotel that has recently changed ownership and management. Sadly, the quality of management is sub-par and leaves a lot to be desired. The only plus to staying here is the great food that is served, typical of any Calabar based hotel or restaurant business.
Please go with your own towels as what you are provided are worryingly off colour. Be sure to check the bathroom faucets that they work properly before you accept a room. Finally, make sure that your room is fumigated well as I had to deal with lots of ants in the room.
The staff and quite pleasant and respond promptly to inquires. They are also helpful with providing you necessary information. Over all, it a good budget hotel if the above-listed cons aren't much of a bother.
It's not just a hotel, it's a whole package. They have their own water manufacturing department, bar , a Kitchen/restaurant, an event hall and rooms for booking. It's a nice place for birthdays and other events
One of the few executive hideouts in calabar. May not resonate as the most classy when you step inside the vicinity, but a few hours around the place and you'll discover just why this is perfect for off sight lodging for you.
