I have spent few nights here hiking and enjoying the gift of God to Nigeria. I am as an field entomologist amazed at the diversity of fauna and flora here. My guide (a botanist and ornithologist) showed me migratory birds from Europe. It's once of the best places to be to enjoy nature. The weather is also so fine. At about 1,500 meters above sea level, you don't want to miss the serenity.

Ngel-Nyaki Forest Reserve is a beautiful landscape with rich biodiversity. The habitats includes: the Montane grassland, Montane Forest, woodland and the forest fragment. The climate is amazingly great especially when the clouds descend on the surface of the landscapes. It's a great place to learn about nature; plant and wildlife. I love the 'clicking' sound of grasshoppers, 'zeee' sounds of cicadas, crickets, and the melodious songs and calls of birds as the sun rise at dawn and sunset. The colorful butterflies, bugs and beetles are incredible. The land holds a great deal of plant diversity ranging from Algae, ferns, herbs of asters, lamiaceae, poaceae, lianas and climbers and of course trees of diverse species This is a good site for bird watching. Palearctic migrants such as Whinchats, European pied flycatcher, European Bee-eater found this place a home during the winter as they share with residents birds like African Stonechat. The most amazing is the presence of the Great Blue Turaco, White Crested and Green Turaco; Black Crown Waxbill, Greenbuls, Sunbirds, Doves, Tinker birds and many more. The freshness of the air keeps one refreshed and I will enjoy every nature lover to have an experience of the reserve. I have never regretted any moment of an outing to the wild.
