Today I met a group of often unheralded human beings doing extraordinary job when my wife and I visited the station with our 3 year old son. The boy has always been fascinated with tricks, especially fire trucks. To him, a tipper is a dump truck, and a trailer trailer truck. The only point of argument is that any vehicle that emits smoke, no matter how small even if it was a car, was a fire truck. So we decided to take him to the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria Fire Station, ikeja to educate him on the difference. Despite the very short notice, these human beings put aside everything they were doing to give the boy a tour of the station and their facilities. They allowed the boy have a dummy drive of the fire equipment, put on the siren and their equipments. They were kind enough to pose for a photo with the boy. For this I am very grateful. Today, they did not put out a fire, they lit one in my boy's heart.
