It's not too far from a car park
The train station is good but it's old and needs a lot of renovation, most of the buildings are old and outdated just like most of the stations before it. It's lively and there are lot of small scale business here so it's easy to get food and other things you might want to buy.
2019 train schedule is
Tuesdays 7:00am
Ilorin - - - Lagos
Thursday 7:00am
Ilorin - - - kano
I hear its 8hr drive from Ilorin to Lagos. The train will have to make multiple stops at Offa, Oshogbo and other towns before it gets to Lagos.
I didn't bother to ask about kano. It will be over 24 hrs.
For anybody who intends to use the train transport you may have to visit the station and ask if the train will be loading that week, sometimes they don't because of mechanical fault or one reason or another.
Also visit the station to confirm the schedule has not changed.
