The first residential storey building to be constructed in th ancient city of Benin, according to historical accounts. It is made of wooden decking with red furnace-fired bricks.

The first storey building holds a lot of history and stories. Still home to the original families of the builder the building is well maintained and shows the architectural heritage of the Benin Empire with their attention to details and integration of art into their buildings. This building is a great place yo visit whenever you are in Benin. May I add that you do not need an entrance fee!
