Landgoed Eysinga State Bos

A surprisingly beautiful little forest. Around 1730 Johan Vegilin van Claerbergen bought this area as a wild overgrown swamp. He turned the marshland into a wooded estate by digging trenches, planting oaks and fir trees. After his death in 1772 he bequeathed his estate to his grandson, esquire Frans Julius Johan van Eysinga. The descendants of this esquire Eysinga now own the estate. You can enjoy a walk in this forest. There is a gnome path around the ice rink. Further in the forest you will encounter several paths. The small forest pond surrounded by beautiful old trees remains unique to this forest.
