Stadspaleis Hotel Seidel

Beautiful hotel that makes you feel like royalty! We had a lovely room with huge bathroom and very comfortable bed. The stuff was very nice and friendly. There’s a beautiful park with old ruins just outside the hotel, and the town itself is super cute and worth a (short) visit. Very recommend hotel! Great value for money!

A nice hotel 🏨 near to Giethoorn. The staff are really friendly especially the one who made check in for us. We arrived at 12 am but he understood our situation about the airport and came to us with his own bike I really appreciate it. The room is good and the bathroom is extremely nice but there is two massive problems, first there’s no air conditioning which is too important in this time of the year (August) the second problem is the insects there are a lot of them like a huge bug the one you find in the jungle ( see photos) and all kinds of spiders a family of them I could not sleep peacefully when I woke up two bugs extracted my blood🙂😅. Despite those problems everything went just fine the breakfast was great they bring it to you table, it was boiled eggs bread cheese coffee and juices. In the morning the view was extraordinary the place is really beautiful it’s like an old castle was transformed into a hotel. The reason why I rated it 4 stars because of the staff bathroom and the view. • • •conclusion• If you do not have problem towards insects and warm places you should stay here. Nice place

The hotel is a great old building and the decorations are wonderful and the location is more wonderful The property is very beautiful gardens For the hotel staff are very friendly The problem and the breakfast is good The mosquitoes are highly recommended in the winter, noting that the number of employees in the hotel is low and the reception is open until 7pm so be sure to arrive before that.

On September 7, I, along with my wife, would spend the night in this hotel for our wedding night. Before then I had contact by phone and I was promised that the room would be properly prepared for us. I also noted the arrival time in the booking. After our wedding day we drove to Vollenhove, where unfortunately we were standing in front of a closed door! No one was available by phone, not even via the emergency number. In the end, after waiting a while in front of the closed door, we went home. A terrible disappointment and a nasty end to our wedding day! The next day we received a text message stating that they had missed a call. I had to contact me by phone and a small sorry came out. The excuse was that whoever should be reachable had fallen asleep. I asked how this incident would be remedied. Pieter Jan mentioned the option for another overnight stay with dinner. At that time we were still so dire disappointed to have asked if this could be put on mail. However, there was no response, after which I sent another email. Two and a half months later (!) We have not yet received an email, so I contacted again by phone myself. I was told that the email had been seen, but that the busyness of renovation had not yet been responded to. I asked if they still wanted to respond. This would happen as soon as possible. It is now a week and a half later and I have had enough. Standing in front of a closed door when we had communicated well that we would spend the night before our wedding night and the way we feel we are not taken seriously at all I find bizarre. I can't imagine a decent hotel that treats its guests this way.
