The Hoogewegse Molen is a hollow post mill and dates from 1652 and has been a national monument since 1967. It is a polder mill and has often been renovated over the years due to storm damage. The mill is virtually unobstructed in the landscape, which can create beautiful pictures with changing skies and light.
